Eddy Lanois is a classical trumpeter based in Boston, MA. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory as a student of Benjamin Wright. Before coming to Boston, Eddy earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, studying with Tom Hooten and Jennifer Marotta.
Eddy's performance experience ranges from traditional orchestra and wind ensemble settings to theatre, ballet, and opera productions as well as film scoring sessions. During the summers he has had the opportunity to participate in intensive programs such as Eastern Music Festival and the National Brass Ensemble Academy.
Outside of trumpet, Eddy is interested in the ideas of productivity and self-improvement writers such as Cal Newport and Ryan Holiday, and how those ideas can be applied to life as a working musician. His other hobbies include watching anime and being in nature.
