Eddy Lanois is an aspiring classical trumpeter. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in trumpet performance at the New England Conservatory. In 2022 Eddy received his Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance from the USC Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of Thomas Hooten and Jennifer Marotta. Before coming to USC, Eddy spent a year at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, studying with Jens Lindemann.
A San Diego native, Eddy attended Rancho Bernardo High School, studying privately with John MacFerran Wilds. While in high school, Eddy was a member and trumpet section leader in the award-winning Rancho Bernardo Royal Regiment and principal trumpet of the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra. He has also participated in honor bands and orchestras at both the regional and state level. Throughout his career, Eddy has had the opportunity to perform with world-renowned instrumental soloists such as Tina Guo, Angel Romero, and Yuval Yaron.
Eddy looks forward to an appointment to a symphony orchestra, and the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his many cherished trumpet mentors by educating future generations of trumpet players.
